Nigma's Bellydance Professional Training for Dancers & Teachers
is a unique Course of its kind with a large & comprehensive structure,
designed to make the Student -Dancer/Teacher- grow
within a well planned program:
SECTION I: MED Foundations (PARTS 1-4; 64h)
SECTIONII: Musical & Choreographical Forms in MED (PARTS 1-12; 168h)
SECTION III: Props in MED (PARTS 1-8: 112h)
It is a fruit of Nigma’s creativity, great choreographical & didactic talents
and many years of reserch & study in Egypt, USA & Spain
with the most outstanding dancers & teachers
of Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Turkey, Armenia, USA and Spain.
It targets helping you become a complete & excellent dancer,
enhancing your creativity and intuitive & intellectual abilities as a dancer & teacher.
It contains subjects not found in other Bellydance Courses at all or presenting
some of them in much more extensive range of knowledge & practice, such as:
Special Resourses (to acquire the representative resourses of Arab dancers in their moves, combinations and phrasing), Methodology & Didactics (to improve not only your teaching skills but also the results of your own practice or rehearsals), Biomechanics of Middle Eastern Dance Movement (to understand what the repertoire of representative Bellydance movement is and how it is different from other dances), Middle Eastern Music Principles (to have knowledge and understanding of the music you attempt to interpret, as -for most of you- it is part of another culture you haven't been born in), Middle Eastern Rhythm study (more extensive than in any other course: larger number of rhythms [43] and more options for their interpretation in dance), Middle Eastern Dance History (to gain perspective on national, regional and individual stylistic differences in Bellydance, and on some events of historical importance, as well as learn to appreciate the value & artistic quality of each presented dancer in a larger context).
IF YOU ARE TIRED OF LEARNING ALWAYS THE SAME THINGS,
while searching for so much more,
AND GETTING JUST A FRAGMENTED VISION OF OUR ART,
which is not enough if you are striving for excellency,
THIS IS A BELLYDANCE TRAINING FOR YOU!
A PIONEER, EXCELLENT QUALITY, COMPREHENSIVE BELLYDANCE TRAINING FILLED WITH ADDITIONAL THEORETICAL INFORMATION
(APART FROM LONG PRACTICE SESSIONS, of course!)
YOU CAN’T FIND IN ANY OTHER COURSE,
TO BECOME AN EXCELLENT DANCER AND TEACHER! |
| |
|
OBJECTIVES & STUDENTS: |
| |
The objectives & character of the Course: The Bellydance Professional Training for Dancers & Teachers has been created by Nigma and spread through “El-Oasis” Worldwide Bellydance Community as a coherent and detailed guiding structure and a method of deep study and teaching of Middle Eastern Dance to help give direction to dancers’, teachers’ and students’ learning process, leading them from basic and fundamental to advanced and professional elements of dance.
Its structure and concept allow the participation of students, dancers and professionals with diverse backgrounds and levels of knowledge as long as they are interested in a thorough study and fast progress.
The Course alternates practical with theoretical activities to allow the students to adapt to the intensity of the Course. |
| |
Students: The “El-Oasis” Bellydance Professional Training is addressed to:
(1) Bellydancers willing to improve their skills, technique and understanding as well as acquire strategies for self-practice, rehearsing and choreographic concepts for their stage presentations
(2) MED/Bellydance teachers willing to widen their knowledge of the Middle Eastern Dance and human body as well as familiarize with methodology and didactic tools for dance teaching
(3) MED/Bellydance Students willing to delve into the depths of the millenary Art of MED through a most complete, serious, but not less exiting and enjoyable study |
| |
| |
|
|
| |
Structure: The Training course consists of 3 Sections and many Modules & Units within each of them building up in difficulty and complexity.
|
| |
SECTION I: Middle Eastern Dance Foundations (Modules 1-4): the knowledge & skills in the Foundations of the dance in general and Middle Eastern Dance in particular, covering the historical, musical & rhythmical, anatomical and technical topics to build up the Students’ knowledge of the fundamentals and prepare a strong base and rich vocabulary necessary for the dance study through dance improvisation & choreography: MED History, Anatomy for dancers & Biomechanics, MED Technique (body core: Upper/Lower Body Technique & Limbs: Footwork, Armwork; Special Resources in dance), ME Music notions & Rhythm study, sample choreographies based on 2/4 and 4/4 bar rhythms.
It prepares you for the real and deep study of the dance through improvisation and choreography study within the second and third Sections of the Training Course or other instructors’ classes and workshops. |
| |
SECTION II: Musical & Choreographic Forms in Middle Eastern DanceED (Modules 1-12): the study of musical forms and the choreographic concepts & formulas emerging from them in MED, the use of space, time & energy through choreographies in which body language is the only tool with the objective of acquiring and perfecting the necessary body skills before entering the big world of props (Baladi, Shaabi, Geel, Taqseem, Maqsoum, Drum Solo, Interpretation of Oum Kalthoum, Farid El Atrache, Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Entrances & Finales, and full Raqs Sharqi Routines) |
| |

|
| |

| |
| |
| |
IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING THE CLASS: |
| |
REMEMBER to bring with you: |
—many changes of class dancewear in case you'd like to change it daily or even twice a day due to the intensity of the class (many hours a day & most of the hours are dedicated to practice, not theorical classes)
—footwear (long class hours & many drill repetitions in Travelling Steps, Spins & Turns, Choreography, etc. might make your soles get itchy; you'll be more confortable if you have your footware in case of need)
—exercisebook or sheets of paper & pens/pencils/markers for note taking
—VIDEO CAMARA FOR RECORDING FRAGMENTS OF YOUR CLASS DRILLS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE IN YOUR PRACTICE |
IMPORTANT RULES: |
PAID FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
ADMITION RIGHTS RESERVED (The Teacher has the decision about who can attend the course).
THE AMOUNT OF THE MATERIAL, VERBAL & WRITTEN, OFFERED BY THE TEACHER WILL DEPEND ON THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE LEVEL OF THE PARTICIPANTS (Though the Teacher will laways aim at the highest progress, she decides the level and the amount of the knowledge possible & convenient to teach each group; Remember the dynamics of the group teaching makes the Students interdependent for good and for bad; If you expect a personalized attention to suit your own experience, level and learning capacity, please apply for private classes).
MAKE SURE TO REST, EAT & HYDRATE PROPERLY BEFORE AND DURING THE COURSE, as the process is intense and you want to benefit from it as much as possible.
MAKE SURE TO LEAVE ALL PROBLEMS, BAD MOOD AND CONFLICTIVE ATTITUDES OUTSIDE. (Bringing them into class negatively affects not only the concentration and the frame of mind of ALL the present, the Students and the Teacher, but directly lowers the quality of the class, diminishing the Students' learning capacity and the Teacher's concentration and motivation levels.)
ANY PERSON WHO IS NOT A REGISTERED STUDENT IS NOT ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES OF THE COURSE (watching the classes without registration is not permitted; accompanying people are not allowed on the premises, only the registered Students; any exceptions to be made will entirely depend on the Teacher's criteria). |
